Wearing Blessed Rosaries
A cherished practice since 2003. Rosaries offered to the statue of Mother of Divine Mercy are blessed and given to pilgrims to wear around their neck for divine protection, peace, and physical and spiritual healing.

History & Origin
The Story of Our Shrine
The Divine Mercy Shrine of Holy Mary, Thodupuzha, stands as a sacred haven of prayer, healing, and divine grace under the Eparchy of Kothamangalam.

Established in 2005 and officially handed over to the Eparchy of Kothamangalam on August 14, 2006, the Shrine has grown into one of the most prominent pilgrimage centers in Kerala. Pilgrims from across the world visit the Shrine to seek the compassionate love of Jesus Christ and the powerful intercession of Mother of Divine Mercy.

From 2003 onwards, visitors were welcomed to the sacred Grotto. A unique spiritual practice requested by Holy Mother was putting blessed rosaries on the hands of the statue of the Mother of Divine Mercy and distributing them to pilgrims for spiritual protection, deliverance, and physical and mental healing.

In 2015, due to the increasing flow of faithful, major expansion work was undertaken to add a spacious prayer hall and pilgrimage center. In 2023, the grand annual feast was celebrated with global digital outreach, live streamed novenas, and spiritual counseling.

About Devotion

Fountain of Grace

The Divine Mercy is a form of God's compassion — an act of divine grace rooted in trust and forgiveness. In Catholicism, it refers specifically to the devotion revealed by Jesus Christ to Saint Faustina Kowalska, a Polish nun who received visions of Our Lord and a message of mercy for all humanity.

At the Shrine of Divine Mercy, Thodupuzha, thousands gather daily to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, participate in the Holy Mass, receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and seek God's grace during the Hour of Mercy at 3:00 PM.

The Chaplet of the Divine Mercy was given by Jesus to St. Faustina as a powerful prayer of intercession for sinners and dying souls. At the Shrine, the Chaplet is prayed communally daily at 3:00 PM.
